INTERLOCK & PAVERS

Interlock & Paver Installation

Decades with proper maintenance.

Yes, minimal maintenance is needed and includes touch ups, cleaning, and occasional resanding.

Yes. It’s a pretty straightforward process providing the base was properly installed.

Removal of the top organic layer, getting down to a sturdy sub-base, assessment and amendment of the sub-base, a soil separation (geotextile fabric), and then a gravel base compacted to 98%.

This depends on the scope of work, the size of the project, and access to the work area.

RETAINING WALLS

Retaining Walls

When the elevation of the yard requires it, or to divert the flow of water on the property for proper drainage.

Precast concrete and natural stone.

Yes. They require exfiltration so there is no excess pressure built up behind the wall that will push against it and compromise the structure.

If a retaining wall is being used in a way it wasn’t engineered for, it can fail. If it’s installed with improper building practices, it can fail. It’s very important in this instance to work with someone who knows what they are doing.

FOUNDATION

Foundation Repair & Waterproofing

Concrete aging. Concrete takes about 40 years to fully cure. The older it gets, the harder it gets, making it more prone to cracking. The only guarantee with concrete is that it is going to crack — it’s just a matter of when.

You should have foundation damage inspected as soon as you notice cracks, leaks, bowing walls, settling, or water infiltration. Waterproofing may also be recommended as a preventative measure to help protect your home from future moisture issues.

By managing the water before it can come in. This can first be done by managing the source of the water. Remedies can include isolating and waterproofing cracks in the foundation wall, fixing a clogged weeping tile, adding a sump pump, fixing negative grading issues, and more.

Waterproofing is done when the structural integrity of the foundation is suitable to continue supporting the house but just needs a system to keep water out from fissures in the wall. When the foundation has lost its structural integrity, a more in-depth structural repair following engineered drawings is needed to bring the wall back to structural load-bearing capacity.

A good foundation repair should last the lifetime of the structure.
